CARTA
DE LEITOR
The
reader letter is an argumentative textual genre present in several media.
As you
may have already had contact with magazines, newspapers, websites, etc., you
certainly noticed that most of these media have a section designed to express
the opinions of their readers, right? The editors use this space to establish a
dialogue with the audience to which their productions are destined and, among
other things, to evaluate the quality of their work. However, for the reader to
adapt to the formal means of communication, it is necessary to know the
structure of the Reader Letter. To do so, note an example of this type of text:
Goiânia,
08 de fevereiro de 2018.
Caro
editor,
gostaria
Atenciosamente,
J.S.
It is
possible to note that, in this case, the reader sees himself represented in the
report made by the media and identifies himself directly with the information
passed through the text. For this reason, he congratulates the responsible team
and expresses his opinion of contentment. However, there are letters of this
type that can also express an opinion contrary to what is being defended by the
media.
ESTRUTURA DA CARTA DE LEITOR
Structure
of the reader letter
As we
can see, despite the different positions expressed in the texts above, they
have a similar textual structure, right? The elements that compose it are:
· * Place and date;
· * Formal compliance
(vocational, with appropriate forms of treatment);
· * Introduction with
mention of the material (text, reportage, etc.) published with the aim of
contextualizing even those who have not had contact with the text to which we
refer, giving importance to the criticism we make;
· * Development with reasoning
of opinion through the use of data and information presented in the text to
which it refers;
· * Conclusion resuming the
expressed opinion and courteous expression of farewell;
· * Use of formal language.
