ANGLO-AMERICAN SPORT: BASKETBALL. ENGLISH HISTORY AND VOCABULARY.

 

The word Basketball (BASKETBALL) means basket ball. A Canadian named James Naismith invented this sport in 1891. We know basketball very well because it is widely practiced in Brazil.

Two teams with five players each make up the teams. The goal is to pass the ball into the opponent's basket. The highest score is 3 points and happens with throwing outside the entry line. We do not need to detail this sport, but it is worth saying that America is the greatest power in basketball. The NBA (NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION) is the richest and most influential in the world. American league players are the highest-paid athletes in the world. Basketball is one of the most popular sports in America.
